Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is ideal for:

  • Parents and caregivers of babies approaching the age of starting solids (approximately 4–8 months)

  • Expecting parents who would like to prepare ahead of time

  • Grandparents and other caregivers wanting to stay up to date with current feeding recommendations

  • Families looking for practical, evidence-based advice in a supportive, judgement-free environment

What we'll cover

During this interactive workshop, we'll discuss:

  • How to recognise when your baby is developmentally ready to start solids

  • Baby-led weaning, traditional purees, or a combination approach

  • First foods and meeting your baby's nutritional needs, including iron-rich foods

  • Creating a safe eating environment, including highchair setup and positioning

  • Gagging vs choking – understanding the difference and how to respond

  • Introducing common food allergens using the latest Australian guidelines

  • Building positive mealtime habits through responsive feeding and role modelling

There will also be plenty of time for questions, giving you the opportunity to discuss your own concerns in a relaxed and supportive setting.
